Dear Republicans

Dear Republicans,

Here’s the deal as I see it.

Yes, it’s kind of cool that you recently gained some ground with the house and/or senate. And while I have never considered myself part of your so-called ranks, I realize that my true interest in politics is things that really work – which in other words would mean pulling our country out of the fucking shithouse which we currently find ourselves in. These sort of ideas will and must go way beyond party alliances. I’m not the kind of person to rely upon party alliances because, in my opinion, things like that change way too fast and oftentimes become corrupted and/or distorted.

It seems to me that Republicans, in general, are on a fast track to present Sarah Palin for President of the United States . . . and I feel like this is a completely asanine and ridiculous idea. The true power – dare I say – THE NEW POWER – in the United States of America is the voice of the Independent citizen. These are the individuals who have moved beyond the affinity of parties or particular issues – these are the people who are truly interested in seeing our country from a wider and hopefully more sensible view-point and the last thing they want to see is a complete amateur leading our country. Haven’t we already paved that path with Barack Obama?

I know many of you will bristle, but the truth is that he is a total puppet – and she would be even worse. The real problem is the in-fighting and the bullshit and the earmarks and the waste . . . . Yes, I agree – I don’t want you to over-tax rich people as a form of writing off your blatant incompetence and/or greed. The real question is – where is this country really going? What is the next real step?
